Hello, I’m Shona, the photographer and founder of Smiley Stars.

I’ve been an Early Years photographer for over 27 years, and in 2014 I started Smiley Stars as a small family-run business with a big aim: to give nurseries and families a photography experience that feels calm, caring and personal.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of meeting so many wonderful children and families. I never take it for granted that parents and nurseries trust me to capture such important moments in a child’s early years.

At Smiley Stars, we focus on natural expressions, gentle interactions and a relaxed atmosphere, so each child can simply be themselves. I believe photographs should hold real memories, and my hope is that the images I create will be treasured by families for many years to come.
